HertsPartners Assistant

  • Entry level
  • 1 opening
  • Flexible

HertsPartners is a local platform being built in Stevenage, right now, before it opens to the public. This is a chance to be alongside that — to see how an early-stage company is actually put together, and to help build it.

What the opportunity is

You would work closely with Louis, who runs HertsPartners, and gradually get to know the business, the platform and what we are preparing to launch.

There is no script for this. Some weeks will be about local businesses, some about content, some about getting a piece of the product ready. The common thread is that you will see how the parts connect, which is the thing that is genuinely hard to learn anywhere else.

Why it matters

HertsPartners exists to make Hertfordshire's local businesses, jobs, events and community easier to find and easier to take part in. It is being built here, for here.

We are at the point just before launch, which is the most interesting moment to join anything. What you do will land in the product rather than in a folder.

What you could get out of it

  • Launching HertsPartners — being there for it, not reading about it
  • Working with real local businesses and partnerships
  • Community projects that affect the area you live in
  • Content, operations and how a small team actually runs
  • Product development — how a decision becomes a thing on a screen
  • Technology and automation, including practical use of AI tools
  • Ideas and research, and being listened to on them
  • How the different areas of a business fit together

What we are looking for

Honestly, the person matters far more than the CV. Drive, reliability, curiosity and a genuine willingness to learn will take you further here than a tidy list of previous roles.

People arrive with all sorts of useful things — organisation, social media, content, business sense, community work, technology, AI and tools, research, design, photography or video, sales and partnerships, administration, or simply being good at working out how to solve a problem.

None of those is required. If you bring something useful that is not on that list, tell us what it is.

What is involved

This is flexible and we will work out something realistic together rather than handing you a rota. Tell us in your application roughly how much time you actually have, and be honest about it — that is far more useful to both of us than an optimistic number.

Being paid for work

Where you directly contribute to genuine work or a real client opportunity, there may be commission or payment for it. When that comes up we agree what it is and what it pays before you do it — never afterwards.

We are not advertising a salary, because there is not one to advertise, and we would rather say that plainly than imply earnings we cannot promise. There are no compulsory hours attached to this.

Worth knowing before you apply

  • Based around Stevenage and Hertfordshire.
  • You must be 18 or over.
  • No salary is offered or implied. Any paid or commission work is agreed separately, in writing, before it is undertaken.
  • A CV is welcome but genuinely optional. Plenty of good people do not have one yet.

Interested?

The application is short and you can save it and come back. A CV is optional.
